The studio was founded in 2002. It is represented by Adam Halíř, Ondřej Hofmeister and Petr Lešek. It focuses on the design of buildings, public spaces and urbanism. They create economical, friendly and fresh architecture, knowing tradition, innovative typology and technology. They support teamwork and a comprehensive approach. An important aspect of Projektil's work is their frequent collaboration with designers, graphic artists, visual artists and contemporary art theorists. Projektil strives for a complex approach to a project even in its initial stages as well as for a wholesome incorporation of the artistic element.

The first significant and celebrated building designed by Projektil was the Centre for Ecological Activities – Sluňákov in Horka nad Moravou, close to Olomouc. Sluňákov was awarded the Grand Prix Architects 2007 and the Award of the Minister of the Environment 2007. The path-shaping moment in the development of the studio came with the designing of the National Technical Library (NTL) in Prague, after winning the architectural design competition. Completed and opened in 2009, the NTL proved itself in the last 10 years to be an indispensable part of the university campus in Prague – Dejvice. Projektil was awarded the Grand Prix Architects 2010, The Award of the Club for Old Prague 2009, and The Award of the State Environmental Fund 2009. The library was also nominated for the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award 2011, just like Sluňákov two years earlier. The qualities of the studio were confirmed by winning the competition for the design of the Research and scientific library in Hradec Králové, which was, after its completion, awarded the Grand Prix Architects 2009: The best new building. The Open Garden and the Centre for NGOs in Brno has won the title of The building of the year 2013.

Projektil’s later completed projects include the revitalization of the Maxipes Fík riverbank in Kadaň, The House of nature of the Litovelské Pomoraví protected area in Horka nad Moravou, the transformation of a former courthouse in Vysoké Mýto into a Museum of Czech car bodywork, the revitalization of the forest park „Belveder“ in Prague-Zbraslav, the new branch of the municipal library „Vozovna“ in Prague, the new pavilion of the elementary school in Líbeznice, which was also nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2017, the exhibition „Our Germans“ in Ústí nad Labem, presenting the history of the coexistence of Czechs and Germans in the Czech lands from the 13th century onwards, the Community centre „Mírová“ in Mnichovo Hradiště and Clubhouse Zbraslav reconstruction, both nominated by the Club for Old Prague for the new building in the historic environment Award 2021, the extension of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren building in Prague, and finally, the new regional headquarters of the ČSOB bank in Hradec Králové, implemented and opened in 2021 and awarded The Office of the Year 2021.

Currently, Projektil works on a number of intriguing projects, such as the new residential buildings „Smíchov City“ in Prague, family house in Jilemnice, a pair of houses in the area of Brno, the new senior house in Prague 3, the reconstruction of the railway station in Klatovy, the reconstruction of the Masaryk´s square in Solnice and the new swimming pool in Písek.
